Qualifications of test takers  

Undergraduate students

            All regular program students who have passed the courses ‘01355111 Foundation English I’ and ‘01355112 Foundation English II’, but have not passed the course ‘01355113 Foundation English III’ are eligible to take the test.

Graduate students

1. Test takers must be graduate students currently studying at Kasetsart University.
2. Those who have already passed the test or submitted a comparable test score of TOEFL/IELTS cannot take the test.
    Since Sept. 1, 2015 those who have already passed the test can take the test again if he/she wish to do so.


Language Requirement Test


Graduate students

A student can meet the Graduate School’s requirements by:
  • Passing the KU-EPT. The test is administered by Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities 4-6 times a year. (For more information, visit http://www.ku-ept.human.ku.ac.th/, or http://www.human.ku.ac.th/) OR
  • Passing the course ‘01355501 English Required by Graduate School’. OR
  • Submitting a comparable score of TOEFL/IELTS. A valid test score must be of a test taken not earlier than 2 years up to the date of submission.

Required scores for master students

  • Paper-based Total                a minimum score of 450
  • Computer-based Total          a minimum score of 133
  • Internet-based Total             a minimum score of 45
  • A minimum score of 5.0

Required scores for doctoral students

  • Paper-based Total                   a minimum score of 500
  • Computer-based Total             a minimum score of 173
  • Internet-based Total               a minimum score of 61
  • A minimum score of 5.5


Exemption is possible for:
  • Graduates from the universities accredited by Thailand’s Office of Civil Service Commission in the countries where English is the official language
  • English-program graduates from local universities
